Here are some interesting things to see and do in Baltimore, Maryland:
The National Aquarium features 660 species of animals and has more than 16,000, including stingrays, sharks, jellyfish, dolphins and other kinds of marine creatures. This is a great place to bring the kids and it’s located in the Inner Harbor area of Baltimore.
Another great thing to see in the Inner Harbor is the USS Constellation, a historic US Navy sailing ship. The USS Constellation is open for tours by the public and you can view the ship’s sleeping, eating and medical quarters and see many military artifacts.
Fort McHenry National Monument
Fort McHenry National Monument is the site of the battle that inspired Francis Scott Key to write the Star Spangled Banner, the US national anthem during the War of 1812. Key saw the US flag still flying high and was inspired to write the anthem. Fort visitors can get a tour, help raise the flag and see a movie with historic data.
Maryland Science Center
The Maryland Science Center is more than 200 years old, making it an example of one of the oldest scientific institution in the US. It is now a museum with interactive children’s activities, a planetarium, dinosaur exhibits, an IMAX theater and more.
Camden Yards is dedicated to the home run record holder George Herman "Babe" Ruth, who was a native of Baltimore. There is a statue of Ruth there that was created in 1996 called Babe’s Dream.
Little Italy, Baltimore
Little Italy is a great place to find shopping, food, drink and fun. It’s near the Inner Harbor and festivals like the Feast of Saint Anthony in June and the Feast of Saint Gabriel in August, are held there.
